Eric is a serial entrepreneur and recovering investment banker. He worked for DLJ/CSFB before co-founding Currenex, Plumgood Food and TNCV, a VC firm. President Obama appointed him to the TVA Board in 2015. He grew up in Miami, went to Amherst College and lived in NYC and SF, where his kids were born, before moving to Nashville. He loves skiing, soccer, yoga, grilling, his wife’s butterscotch brownies and – above all – jalapeños. When he’s not skiing, playing soccer, doing yoga, grilling, eating his wife’s butterscotch brownies or savoring jalapeños, you can catch him playing family Scrabble with Rainbow Kitten Surprise playing in the background.
David is passionate about building the financial and operational infrastructure that helps fast-growing companies thrive. In 25 years of experience, he’s led high-performing teams and built the systems required for continued growth. He has quarterbacked two IPOs. David once fronted a rock cover band and still likes to unwind playing guitar. David has an MBA from SMU’s Cox School of Business and graduated Cum Laude in Economics from New York University.
James is entrepreneurial by nature. His dedication to helping people and making their lives better drives him to create the best possible customer experience here at Alto. James co-founded ShaveFace, a CPG shaving startup in 2014, and has since been a consultant to a number of businesses, at various stages, ranging in industry from private dining events to women’s cosmetics. James loves cooking, yoga, travel, singing, the ocean, tahini, and just about anything he can read. He’s from coastal Connecticut, and has a bachelor’s from Colby College.
Gary brings 30 years’ experience advising fast-growing companies from inception to exit. Gary began his legal career at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Marsh & McLennan Companies. He then turned to helping start-ups as their general counsel. Currently, his practice is devoted to supporting leaders in FinTech and other SaaS/cloud categories as they grow. He’s a graduate of NYU Law and Dartmouth College.

Bill has held leadership roles – often as founder or chief executive – in dozens of institutionally-backed early stage companies. Bill is the longtime chairman of Axioma, a leading risk analytics provider to financial institutions and regulators. He has also been the lead institutional investor in an array of notable financial technology startups. During his tenure as a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, he co-founded Panopto, where he served as chairman and chief executive. Bill also served on the cybersecurity committee of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering and co-founded CMU’s Cylab, one of the world’s largest security research centers. Bill led projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development, the World Bank, the IMF, and the OECD. He earned master’s and doctoral degrees in international relations at Balliol College, Oxford University, where he was a British Council Scholar.
Andrew May serves as President and Chief Financial Officer for Truxton Trust. He became President in 2016 and Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Prior to that, he also served as Director for Truxton Trust. Previously, Mr. May was a Managing Director at Jefferies, a New York-headquartered securities firm, Partner and Director of Equity Research at J.C. Bradford and Company, and Senior Vice President, Equity Research at Equitable Securities. Mr. May holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration, with distinction, from Harvard Business School. He was an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, receiving the Combat Action Ribbon for service in Beirut in 1983.
