Our Team

An entrepreneur and former investment banker, Eric worked for DLJ/Credit Suisse First Boston before co-founding Currenex, Plumgood Food, and Tennessee Community Ventures, a VC firm. Eric served on the Board of the TVA from 2015-January 2019, and he teaches an entrepreneurship class to high school students. A Miami native and diehard 'Canes and Dolphins fan, Eric went to Amherst College. After years in NYC and then San Francisco, he and his wife moved to Nashville, her hometown, to raise their kids. When he's not breathing life into startup companies, Eric loves to ski, play soccer, and practice yoga.

Adam is a software engineer with over 15 years of experience in web development. He has developed dozens of large systems across many industries, including financial, travel, e-commerce, manufacturing, and telecom. Adam has a bachelor's in engineering, as well as an MBA. As a matter of cybersecurity, we do not disclose the complete identities of our engineering team.

A seasoned tech entrepreneur with global experience specializing in Fintech products and platforms. Richard has spent the last 14 years working in digital marketing and growth across the globe including Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, United Arab Emirates and the US. Richard founded MediaPlug, a fully automated nano-influencer platform to then setup and manage marketing and growth teams across a number of US based Fintech startups. Richard holds multiple passports and often refers to himself as a poor man’s Jason Bourne.

James is entrepreneurial by nature. His dedication to helping people and making their lives better drives him to create the best possible customer experience here at Alto via our product and customer support teams. James co-founded ShaveFace, a CPG shaving startup in 2014, and has since been a consultant to a number of businesses, at various stages, ranging in industry from private dining events to women’s cosmetics. James loves cooking, yoga, travel, singing, the ocean, tahini, and just about anything he can read. He’s from coastal Connecticut, and has a bachelor’s from Colby College.

Katrina Welty graduated from Vanderbilt in '07 and was the second employee of then start up Change Healthcare. Supporting the growth of the company to 80+ people over seven years, Welty designed integration, support, and implementation methodologies for Change Healthcare’s strategic partner market and managed product marketing for the company. After leaving Change, she went to work as the VP of Product for Artist Growth, a music business management start-up, gaining experience in the direct to consumer market.

Gary brings 30 years’ experience advising fast-growing companies from inception to exit. Gary began his legal career at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Marsh & McLennan Companies. He then turned to helping start-ups as their general counsel. Currently, his practice is devoted to supporting leaders in FinTech and other SaaS/cloud categories as they grow. He’s a graduate of NYU Law and Dartmouth College.

An entrepreneur specializing in user acquisition, Zach began his career in the crazy competitive world of Daily Fantasy Sports where he helped build the user base of DraftKings, the largest DFS operator in the world. Since then, Zach has developed a holistic understanding of the digital marketing landscape and a passion for business development that spans across technology verticals. He is curious, passionate about technology, and driven by a commitment to self improvement. A diehard New York sports fan, Zach is also a fitness nut who loves to box, exercise, and play soccer in his spare time. He holds a bachelor’s from Emory University.‍

Meghan Womack is a seasoned storyteller and communications strategist with 15 years of experience. She ran communications for major news organizations, including Forbes, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg News. She also served as Head of Communications for Bloomberg Philanthropies and Chief Spokesperson for Michael R. Bloomberg. Meghan played NCAA DI tennis for Fordham University and holds a BA in Communications & Media Studies. She is an avid scuba diver and regularly trains in Muay Thai.

Kate loves getting to the bottom of things and helping people. As a Customer Support Advocate, she engages Investors and Issuers to deliver a best in class investment experience. She also has a keen eye for process creation and documentation. Prior to AltoIRA, Kate worked in Risk Management for the FDIC as a Financial Institution Specialist and FINRA. Outside of work, Kate enjoys volunteering, cooking, and watching Jon Stewart re-runs. Originally from South Florida, she holds a degree in finance from George Washington University and loves a good hiking story.

Bill has held leadership roles – often as founder or chief executive – in dozens of institutionally-backed early stage companies. Bill is the longtime chairman of Axioma, a leading risk analytics provider to financial institutions and regulators. He has also been the lead institutional investor in an array of notable financial technology startups. During his tenure as a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, he co-founded Panopto, where he served as chairman and chief executive. Bill also served on the cybersecurity committee of the National Academies of Sciences and Engineering and co-founded CMU’s Cylab, one of the world’s largest security research centers. Bill led projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development, the World Bank, the IMF, and the OECD. He earned master’s and doctoral degrees in international relations at Balliol College, Oxford University, where he was a British Council Scholar.

Andrew May serves as President and Chief Financial Officer for Truxton Trust. He became President in 2016 and Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Prior to that, he also served as Director for Truxton Trust. Previously, Mr. May was a Managing Director at Jefferies, a New York-headquartered securities firm, Partner and Director of Equity Research at J.C. Bradford and Company, and Senior Vice President, Equity Research at Equitable Securities. Mr. May holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, cum laude, and a Master of Business Administration, with distinction, from Harvard Business School. He was an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, receiving the Combat Action Ribbon for service in Beirut in 1983.
