What is middle market?

The middle market is a category of companies based on annual revenue. Companies that fall into the middle market have annual revenues of between $10 million and $1 billion. According to the National Center for the Middle Market, there are an estimated 200,000 middle market companies across a wide range of industries. 

The middle market plays a crucial role in the economy as a key driver of job creation and growth. Most middle market companies are not publicly traded, so investors interested in participating in this category will find the majority of opportunities in private markets
