What is real assets?

Real assets refer to investments in tangible resources such as real estate, infrastructure, commodities, natural resources, and related operating assets that generate value through physical use and cash flow. In a private market portfolio, real assets offer long-term income potential, diversification and hedging against inflation due to a reduced correlation with traditional stocks and bonds. Investors often access them via private asset classes like private equity, private or public REITs, ETFs, infrastructure funds, or other direct ownership structures that focus on stable returns and essential economic activity.
